Find the Differences Scenes: Students use key words to compare and contrast in ‘Find the Differences’ scenes.
Reading Passages Passages to compare and contrast sharks/whales, apples/pumpkins, cats/dogs. 2 versions of each:
Version 1- Cut and paste picture-supported words into Venn diagram
Version 2- Compare by highlighting sentences that tell about similarities
Compare the Pictures Students write similarities and differences between the two pictured objects.
Same & Different: card game Students turn a card over and if they can name one similarity and one difference between the pictured objects, they keep the card. OR, for a more advanced version, students can come up with as many as they can and use tally marks to keep track of score.
Compare & Contrast Graphic Organizers: Can be used with any book, or as planning for writing a story.
