**WORD WORK**

1. Short Vowel Sort- full color pictures on gingerbread men

2. Compound Words- full-color gingerbread men and houses

3. Build-a-word (Anagrams)- full-color letter manipulatives

4. Spin and Uncover (Sight Words)- 5 picture mats, 4 sight word

sets, spinners

**WRITING**

1. Who Did What?!- Parts of a sentence- Students sort whimsical Christmas cards under ‘who,’ ‘did what,’ and ‘where,’ then select one of each to use in a sentence.

2. Hat for a Day: Students pick a hat and write about their day as that character.

3. Build-a-Sentence: Mix and fix words to build a sentence, then record.

4. Word Wall- Students write gingerbread or Christmas story using word wall for spelling/idea help.

**MATH**

1. Skip-Count by 2’s to 20- sequence cards, recording sheet, word-problem cards, and independent word-problem writing

2. Roll and Uncover (reinforces addition and subtraction)

3. Christmas Cookies (ways to make a number)- students manipulate cookie plates to show ways to make a number, then record).

4. Tally and Graph it Up!- Students complete tally chart and graph to record favorite holiday characters.
