In keeping with my character packs, this one has an Inferring Iguana to help make the strategy more memorable and engaging, but I also included posters and materials without the iguana as an option.

~Suggested lesson sequence Detailed plan to implement. Perfect for grades 1 and 2, but many activities can also be used in K and for struggling learners in grade 3.

~Reading Passages FIVE Differentiated passages, three versions of each:

Version 1- Students color-code passage, then color the picture that goes with the story.

Version 2- More difficult text. Students color-code passage by answering inference questions.

Version 3- Students color-code passage, then write inferences and illustrate.

~Case File Match Activity 12 matching case file and magnifying lens sets (plus 12 simple sentence cards). Kids read the case file card and find the matching animal lens.

~Who’s at Work Inferring guess-who printable : Kids cut and paste the speech bubbles to the correct workers.
