LESSON 1: The Voting Process
Students learn why voting is important and the basics about Election Day. (View slides in preview)
After the slideshow, students complete an Election Day activity poster. They can also read and complete the mini-books or reading passages.
LESSON 2: Making a Choice
Students learn why an informed decision is a smart one! They learn about campaigns and the kinds of things that are important to learn about the candidates (not their favorite colors :D).
After the slideshow, students make a campaign poster for themselves or complete an “If I were President…” poster.
LESSON 3: Who Can Vote?
Students learn a brief timeline of voting rights and voting eligibility requirements today.
After the slideshow, students complete a voter registration card.
LESSON 4: Class Election Day!
Students review important ideas about voting and vote for a class party!
You choose themes from 20 choices, including 8 BOOK-BASED cards!

After voting, kids get a voting badge, then tally and graph the results. An editable family letter is included to send home about the party.
