Description
Grapheme Sound Cards are a quick phonics warm-up for small group reading.
They’re perfect for reviewing phonics skills and identifying which letter sounds your students already know. Two-sided with the grapheme on one side and picture on the other.
If you prefer, you can click here to purchase this resource from my TPT store.
This pack has 122 grapheme cards, in color and B&W.
*Please note this includes consonant blends. Although consonant blends represent more than one phoneme (sound), practice reading blends quickly improves fluency when decoding text.
INCLUDES:
- Two-Sided Cards: One side shows the grapheme, while the other side features a picture to help kids remember the sound.
- Color and B&W: Print in color on white paper OR print the black and white version on colored paper.
- Easy Organization: Cards are numbered, and a key is included to help you find cards easily.
- Skills: Alphabet, digraphs, double consonants, blends, CVCE, r-controlled vowels, vowel teams, diphthongs, soft c/g, irregular word families, & more (missing any? Email me at Brenda@BrendaTejeda and I’ll add them!)
- BONUS Vowel Poster: Vowels with picture keys for short and long vowels.
USE IN MANY WAYS:
>>Quick Sound Drills: Ideal for quick review at the start of your small group instruction, these cards provide immediate feedback on what your students know and where they need more practice.
>>Auditory Drill: Show picture side and have kids write the grapheme that represents the first sound.
>>Build words: Use as a blending board, moving the cards to build words and make word chains.
These cards are perfect to warm up for your small group reading.
Also helpful are my Decodable Word and Sentence Cards for easy and quick review at the word and sentence level.
