Writing Bundle: Labeling, Dialogue, Onomatopoeias
Stretching out a word can be a difficult strategy for beginning writers.
Like my original Labeling pack, these pages encourage students to label and stretch out words, but these include a phonics component so kids can apply the spelling patterns they learn!
Since most students are ready for sentences at this stage, I added 2 lined versions in addition to the unlined version. PLUS, I added a READING version with the words at the bottom (see the preview for example).
They make great practice for your beginning writers and will help increase their confidence to become risk-takers with spelling.
***Includes 30 sets in 4 versions***
- 10 Word Families: -an, -at, -en, -ell, -et, -ig, -og, -op, -ug, -uck
- 4 CVCe: a-e, i-e, o-e, u-e
- 3 Digraphs: sh, ch, th
- 10 Blends: cl, fl, gl, cr, fr, gr, sk, sl, sn, sp, st
- 3 AR/OR: 1 of each and 1 that combines both pictures
- Now includes 2 types of lines, plus unlined
- **NEW** Includes a reading version! Words are at the bottom for kids to read, color-code the picture, and label (please see preview for example)
*Also includes a word list answer key for each picture.*
Use whole-group while you display onto a screen for a quick warm-up before independent writing, after your word study lesson, or in small groups during your writing workshop!
*WRITING CENTER: Because of its differentiation, this makes a great writing center as well!*
- Students color when done labeling
- Encourage students to add more to their pictures or list more words with the spelling feature on the back
